00:01:30 – Livestock Market Update:  Livestock economist Lee Schulz of Iowa State University is featured on this week's cattle market segment:  in addition to looking back at last week's price trends, he shares some observations on hay prices heading into the fall, and talks about how the economics of retaining ownership of calves this fall are shaping up.

00:13:00 – Toxic Blue-Green Algae:  K-State veterinary toxicologist Steve Ensley reports on the potential for blue-green algae in farm ponds around Kansas: he says conditions are ripe for those toxic algae blooms to form, and he advises livestock producers on taking precautions to prevent their herds from encountering this serious health threat.
