00:01:30 – Forage Productivity of Wheat Varieties:  K-State wheat production specialist Romulo Lollato talks about the recent evaluation of winter wheat varieties for their forage productivity this past fall, which is useful information for producers who rely on winter wheat as a forage resource for cattle...this evaluation is based on forage yield measurements taken in December.

00:12:55 – Cover Crop Research:  K-State environmental quality specialist Peter Tomlinson talks about a new national coalition of scientists who will be studying cover crop impacts on crop production systems, supported by a major USDA grant...Peter and his colleagues at K-State will specifically examine the influence of cover crops on nitrogen availability, water use efficiency and pest management.
